The Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (IFISC) in Palma de Mallorca, Spain is pleased to announce 3 postdoctoral fellowships. We invite dedicated and enthusiastic researchers in the following research domains (see also https://ifisc.uib-csic.es/en/research/maria-de-maeztu-unit-excellence-23-26/research-pillars/ ):
In all three domains we combine applications with the use of methods and ideas from physics, in particular from nonlinear dynamics and statistical physics.
IFISC (https://ifisc.uib-csic.es) is a joint research center of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), dedicated to pioneering cross-disciplinary strategic research in complex systems, building on physics methods. The institute’s leading role was recognized with the prestigious “María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence" award from the Spanish Research Agency in 2018, an accolade we proudly renewed in 2022.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be immersed in a vibrant, multidisciplinary setting. Collaboration is more than encouraged—it is the nature of our institute. We invite you to seize the opportunity to learn and grow, drawing on the inspiration and knowledge from experts across a spectrum of fields. Your journey of discovery starts here.
We seek candidates with a strong background in complex systems, in particular relating to specified topics above. The ability to work in more than one of the mentioned topics is valued. The contracts we can offer are initially for 12 months, with the possibility of an extension for another year. The annual gross salary is up to 36,000 EUR, depending on the candidate’s experience. Applications are open and will remain open until the positions are filled. Our aim is for candidates to start their contracts in early 2024.
At our institute, we value diversity and are committed to equal opportunities. We encourage applications from individuals with different backgrounds and experiences. Join us and use this opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in complex system sciences.
To apply please send a research statement or project (up to 2 pages) and your CV to email@example.com, and arrange for two letters of recommendation to be emailed to the same address directly by your referees.
